What still held up

Flower Expo Illinois 2026 was two days at The Geraghty in Chicago. By the end of it I had smelled a ridiculous amount of flower, tried concentrates, looked at new hardware and talked with brands all over the floor.

A show is built for first impressions. A buyer’s job is the opposite: figuring out what still holds up after the booth lights are gone. That is the test behind every page in this issue.

These Field Notes aren’t a ranking and they aren’t a recap. They are the booths, products and people I kept thinking about afterward, written from the purchasing desk: what I tried, why it stood out, and why it matters on a shelf.

You can market a jar. You still have to deliver what’s inside it.
