Disclosure Policy

Last updated September 29, 2026

Readers should know about any relationship that could reasonably affect how they weigh our coverage. This page explains what we disclose and lists the relationships that apply today.

1What we disclose

  • Complimentary products and samples relevant to a story.
  • Sponsored or paid content (we don’t currently publish any).
  • Affiliate relationships (we don’t currently have any).
  • Professional and commercial relationships, including brands the store John buys for purchases from.
  • Employment relationships.
  • Gifts, event access, travel or accommodation provided by a subject of coverage.
  • Our own products and ventures when we write about them.

Where a disclosure applies to a story, it appears on that story. Stories with nothing to disclose don’t carry a disclosure box.

2Current standing disclosures

  • Employment: John Hirsch works as a purchasing director at an Illinois dispensary. ProcureCulture is independent of that employer.
  • Purchasing relationships: the store John buys for currently purchases products from IC Collective, ZOI, Redemption Botanicals / Mile High Melts and CRONJA, all covered in Issue 001. John previously carried IC Collective products at his own dispensary in California, and works with an IC sales representative.
  • Event access: Flower Expo Illinois 2026 access was a complimentary trade credential available to qualified industry buyers.
  • Samples: at Flower Expo, brands offered trade samples to credentialed buyers. John received one or two products from some brands, the same as other buyers. No payment was received for any coverage.
  • Own products: MenuGuard, featured in ProcureTech and in the Buyer’s AI Prompt Guide, is owned by John Hirsch.

3What we don’t accept

We don’t accept payment, gifts or favours in exchange for coverage, inclusion, rankings or positive opinions, and we don’t let subjects review stories before publication.
